A rest is as good as a cure in mild cases of back pains as when you strain your muscles. Muscles are strained when there has been lack of activity or exercise. One can never say when back pains should strike anyone but to prevent any occurrence of back pain, maintaining proper posture, keeping a proper weight through a well balanced diet and exercise are all advisable. Listening to the body through signs and pains will definitely give you a good rest.
